This website honors the life and legacy of James “Jim” Patrick Shenton, who taught history and humanities at Columbia University (and many other institutions) for the entire second half of the 20th Century. It is produced by Benji de la Piedra, an independent scholar and Columbia alum working on a forthcoming biography of Shenton for Columbia University Press, and Marygrace Waller, a student in Columbia’s Oral History M.A. Program.
